This has created a great market for "companion products" that really solve a number of known situations! I will go on record early here with this disclaimer: Every good IT person that I know will tell you that any time you have more than one program trying to work toward a common goal, there will be issues! There are simply a bazillion combinations of configurations, connections, etc. It's like taking a connecting flight: It increases the chances of your luggage getting lost...
In an exceedingly mobile society, one of the most common "desires" that I hear is for ACT! to sync with a smart phone (and specifically the iPhone.) At this time, it simply doesn't happen on its own... but several developers have products that have now been out long enough that most of the bugs are worked out.
As an iPhone user, I have recently made this my mission: To find a product that will allow me to sync my ACT! database with my iPhone. You know the old expression, that "the cobbler's children have no shoes"!
I googled. I dogpiled. I read reviews. I read tech specs. I downloaded free trials and I tested. And I cleaned up what I messed up... (It was bound to happen.)
The bottom line and the end result is this: I liked Handheld Companion best for a number of reasons including that it is very user friendly. As a result, I have been authorized as a reseller in that too (along with ACT! and Sage E-marketing for ACT!/Swiftpage).
